Vineyards

The activities in the vineyard are supervised and carried out by Vincenzo Cesani himself.

The 26 hectares of vineyards spread overthree different areas which, althoughat most 2 km from each other, represent very different production realities with a precise identity: Pancole, San Paolo and Cellole. In these different vineyards, managed as single living organisms, the company wines are produced, each one the fruit of different soils, agronomic choices and harvesting. The wines produced are real crus which are cured and bottled as such.

Company Cru

Pancole

Located around the buildings of the wineryare the vineyards of Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Chianti Colli Senesi, 300 meters above sea level, facingto the east and growingon soils of marine origin, mainly sandy and very rich in fossil shells dating back to the Pliocene. Here the historical wines of the company tradition have always been produced:

Pancole - Vernaccia di San Gimignano Cesani
Pancole - Chianti Colli Senesi Cesani
Pancole - Rosato Toscano Cesani
Sanice - Vernaccia di San Gimignano Riserva

San Paolo - Clamys

Located in San Paolo, two km away from the winery, 300 meters above sea level and facing north-east, this vineyard is only for Vernaccia di San Gimignano andis over 40 years old. Clamys, cultivated with high double-sidedcordon trained system, finds a total symbiosis with a strongly clayey soil of marine origin rich in fossils dating back to the Pliocene. The wines that come from this symbiosis have a strong mineral character, intense and persistent, and since 2015 they are bottled individuallyas:

Clamys - Vernaccia di San Gimignano

Vergaia

Located in San Paolo, this vineyard is separated from Clamys only by the provincial road to Certaldo, but represents a completely different world. It is located 250 meters above sea level, faceseast and has a purely sandy soil, with tuffaceousformations of great depth. The vineyard is surrounded by a forest and is near a stream, the "Broto di Vergaia", which determines a very special microclimate. Here, some new hectares of Vernaccia di San Gimignano have been recently planted and in a few years they will give life to a new wine.

Cellole

Purchased by Vincenzo in the 80s amidstgeneral disbelief because it is a land of "stones and broomplants", this is the vineyard from which the two most prestigious company crus are born today: the red wines Cellori and Luenzo. This land, dating back millions of years, is made up of enormous stones, alberese and clay, faceseast and is 360 meters above sea level. It is one of the most beautiful places in the municipal area, where the view stretches over  an infinite horizon. The Sangiovese, inthis ideal land for its cultivation, acquires a perfect phenolic maturation and a tannic textureof absolute finesse. Besides Sangiovese, here are grown Colorino and Merlot, from which are produced:

Luenzo - Rosso toscano IGT
Céllori - San Gimignano DOC
